Weekend Recap: And the cramping begins!

i can start w/ thursday the 22nd because it was a fun day. started out w/ me neutering a rabbit, using a prescrotal incision. it didn't go perfectly smooth, it was my first time doing it this way, but i wasn't afraid :0) and got the job done w/ help from my fellow postdocs. i had to leave the surgery early to go get an IUD of all things. maybe dumb to do in the middle of a work week, in the middle of surgery but it was only fitting to mess w/ rabbit balls and then get my female parts brutally poked at. yes it did hurt and yes i'm usually good w/ pain, i'd say i was good w/ this pain, but it was still painful none the less. i'd recommend getting one inserted when you have your period as your cervix will be more dilated and not so hard to implant the device, i did not have my period and suffered. i also have to admit i've been crampy ever since getting it almost 2 weeks ago and now i'm getting my period and yes it is worse than usual just as they said, but hey i won't be having any babies, i'm 99% sure of that.

friday night was at the moment unmemorable, oh no i take that back. was stuck at work until after 9 because of a last minute late day work thing. was happy to finally get home and just relax watching stuff on my laptop i think.

spent most of saturday relaxing, was on call, and luckily no call.

decided to try a nice run on sunday. took cleo for 3 miles, then brought her home and went back out. was running on the cambridgeside of the charles, getting close to 8 miles when i got whacked in the shins by a kinda big kid on a razor scooter. since blood was running down my left leg, the cut was fresh and i wasn't sure how deep, and i was right near MIT i went to MIT medical and ended up getting 3 sutures so i didn't have a scar.

after that ordeal was over, i ran home, it was just over a mile, i had to get home somehow and that was the quickest and easiest way even if i did just have my leg closed up. needed to shower, i was soooo smelly, then had to go back to MIT to get the pager because i was primary person on rounds for monday the holiday. after that was all done i met rr/j at fanueil hall and got halfmoons and watched around through the north end to boston beer works for dinner. don't get the watermelon ale, tastes like water, guess i should have known.

spent monday at work for about 3.5 hrs doing rounds. wasn't so bad, very quiet. since it was such a nice day out i decided instead of doing more work i would do outside things. finally made my way to Sweet for cupcakes. had to go after rr/j told me about it and said how awfully sweet they were. of course when i got there i couldn't just get one so first got 3 but then saw a discounted price for 4 so got 4. then walked home from there, back bay mass ave. ate one of the cupcakes on the way, the lemon one, did not agree at all w/ rr that they were too sweet, for proof, i ended up eating all 4 of the cupcakes that day, oops. yes i wanted to barf them up but i keep the calories in until my tummy went crazy later on that night.

after i made it home i took cleo to boston common to sit on the grass while i read stuff for journal club. she wouldn't settle down and kept walking over my face since i was laying down. after an hour or so i couldn't take it anymore so we went back home to work.

cleocommon

db showed up and we took a long walk from my place out as far as D St all along the water and then back.

my legs were definitely sore at the end from the cumulative effects of the 9 miler on sunday and the inflammation from the scooter bashing, walking for 3.5 hrs straight doing rounds and then the long walk w/ db.

i have more stories starting w/ tuesday but i'm tbc in another post

I like the weekend updates but now you have the same problem I was did. You are stuck behind a backlog of big weekend recaps so you're shying away from the short frequent posts that you used to do.

Either figure out how to do both or drop the weekend recaps. And stop pissing away your time on twitter and Facebook. Assuming you don't have time to do all three.

This is the only place where you know your content will be accessible in the future.

Buy Me Stuff

Really?

Thanks, very nice of you.

First, check my Amazon.com Wish List and there's no need to worry that I already have it or won't use it.

Tip: Check around for better pricing. Amazon's pricing is usually good, but not always the best available.

A quick Froogle search can't hurt.
