I was looking at Groupon because I'm an online deal whore, that's another post, and I see this deal for Urban Organic and it fits perfectly with my 'eating healthy' tone for today. I decided to purchase the deal, a box of organic produce for $19, normally $34.99 (15-18 items, 1-3 pieces of each item), and included delivery (normally $1.99 in Manhattan) and waives one-time $25 fee. I'm hoping it's good and I'll keep doing it. There's also a smaller box w/ a little less stuff I could get if it's too much produce for me to go through in a week. I'll keep you posted on my quest for good food.
It's too much effort to actually try to eat healthy today, though there's still a chance I could, but I'm at least thinking about it.
My friend Laura and old triathlon teammate from when I lived in Boston has a healthy food blog w/ recipes so I will try and take some tips from her. I got the Bear involved since he's my chef and needs to help get the food and prepare/cook it.

I was on Twitter and seeing what's up in the city today and there was mention of the New Amsterdam Market. It's supposed to be pretty good, not necessarily healthy eating, but I'd like to check it out. It's down by South St Seaport, back where I was last weekend to get the ferry to IKEA, so it'd take a bit to get there from Midtown. I'm on call this weekend so I'm not leaving my apt until at least 11am when my vet tech usually updates me on cases and goes home. So maybe around 11am I can think about it. Or maybe we can run down there at 11am and take the train home. That would be even better.

Geez! I must be real bad when I don't keep track! Guess I'm done eating for the day.
One of my fav candies, White Rabbits, is fucked up thanks to China. Just bought some recently in Boston's Chinatown. Better go stock up!
my fav Skittles. There they were called Showtime Skittles instead of Carnival Skittles, same yellow package though. They had them all over the place. BIG bags, little bags, I forgot to bring a good stash back w/ me though. I just got a little bag at the airport on my way out for $2.75. Candy was expensive there too!!
In June 2007 Carnival Skittles became available in Australia, known as Showtime flavors.
The flavors are:
Popcorn (light yellow)
Jam Donut (brown red)
Toffee Apple (green)
Fairy Floss (pink)
Bubblegum (baby blue)
Also in Australia they call cotton candy candy floss. I got some at the Australia Zoo, yum!
If you know me you know I hate to eat food, I'm very picky and go most of the time not eating food. I try to survive on little but candy, and lots of candy! The food I do eat sometimes is not even really food. Today, until my BB tuna for dinner, I had CheezIts and a peanut butter cookie. Not that good.
I just LOVE BB tuna. It's the best! Well, more specifically, the albacore in WATER not oil. I was buying Chicken of the Sea because it was cheaper but it was so nasty, even after you try and squeeze the water out it's still watery. Luckily last week at Shaw's BB was on sale for $1 a can, normally it's like $1.59. I bought 5 cans and it's so much better than CoftheS. Now I will never stray again from BB. I know 59 cents doesn't seem that big a deal but I try to save money on what I can so I have more for other things, like going out.
So if BB needs me for a spokesperson, just let me know.
Added bonus, as a vet, I say the BB water juice that you squeeze out is good for your dog! ;0) Cleo loves it!
especially at 2 in the morning when you're hot!
Yay! Skinny Cows

I'm so proud of my cookies. I couldn't eat them right away. When I got home last night I gave each dog one of Smurfette's arms. Tonight I finally ate them. Yum!
Thanks to the gracious hosts and Joslynn's amazing baking skills. She made the dough from scratch and had it ready for us to make into cookies. She also made the icing, many different colors, and she taught me how to make the icing too. I chose purple. Not that I was thinking of it at the time but it's K-State's crazy color.
White Hen cashier (the guy): So you came all the way here in this nasty weather for Spaghetti O's and Cheetos?
Me: I just live right there. (pointing) That's why I came here, I didn't want to go far.
Excuse me, let me buy whatever the hell I want w/out the comments. I'm hungry, hungover, have no food in the house to eat, and I need a boat to get down the street so since White Hen is right there, I didn't have many options and Spaghetti Os are always good, even in your 30s!
Ciao Bella sorbetto flavor Mango, so yum!!! I got it at Whole Foods on sale for $3 a pint. It's only ~97 calories for 1/2 cup, so that makes 4 servings per pint. You could even splurge and eat the whole thing and it'd be less than 400 calories. I've been counting calories for about a week or so and it's a pain in the ass but it really makes me think 3, 4, 5 times before putting something in my mouth, especially if it's going to up my daily intake too much. I'm not really resticting myself too much. I'm just keeping myself under 2000 calories. Most days between 1600-1800 cals though some days less. I had one bad day though in the beginning that was about 2100 cals. Anyway this is a great tasting low cal treat. Other flavors are probably great too! Funny thing is last night I was eating it and wanted to share it w/ Cleo because it was so good and about 30 seconds after I gave her about a teaspoon of it she puked a big pile of her dinner dog food. What's that all about!?
Gotta go. I'm at Harvard and need to get to class and the dudes using the computer next to me are way too annoying talking about MCATs and venture capital in some silly thing.
